The series is rooted in symbolic expressionism and centres on the figure of the Blue Goddess. This figure brings together ancient mythologies and the lived experience of a contemporary woman, reflecting a search for one’s place in the world, with the Goddess serving as a point of anchoring.
The use of blue sets the figure apart, marking a sacred quality while allowing her to move between mythic and contemporary settings. Through pared-back figuration and a restrained composition, attention centres on the ideas and symbols carried by the figure.
